Who pays for home health services? Medicare will pay as long as the services you require are “skilled” meaning that it takes the skills of a licensed professional to perform and that a physician has ordered those services and will follow your care while under home health services.

Private Insurances will pay for home health services, but usually have certain guidelines in their policy. You would need to check with your insurance company as to coverage.

Patients do pay privately for these services also.

TennCare will also pay for home health services, but have certain rules and requirements.

How long can I receive home health services? Anyone receiving home health being paid by Medicare can continue to receive services as long as they require “skilled” services and are homebound.

Anyone receiving home health services being paid by Private Insurance can continue to receive services based on what their policy outlines.

Anyone receiving home health services being paid privately can receive services until they no longer feel that they require the help.
