As many of you are aware, TennCare is in the process of making cuts to its rolls in Tennessee. When a current beneficiary is notified that their eligibility may be in jeopardy, they are asked to respond to a Request for Information or RFI. If this step is not taken by the beneficiary they will automatically be cut from TennCare. The state has recently issued a letter to TennCare Providers giving some information about patients who have been cut because they did not respond to the RFI. If you become aware of any patient who has lost their TennCare coverage and you believe it may be due to a failure to respond to the RFI you may direct them to call the Family Assistance Service Center toll free at 1-866-311-4287. In the Nashville area they may call, 743-2000.
If you know of someone who has been cut, or may potentially be cut please use the following as a reference.
